A Shakuhachi Offering: "The Three Ancient Pieces."
These pieces are said to have
been "found," "transmited," or "given" with the so-called composer
beinga
conduit
and not really a "composer." These pieces are said to have emerged
in
dreams as a gift from the Buddha.
KYOREI (Bell from the Great Void), from an
old
Chinese composition dating from the 7th century AD
KOKU (Flute in the Empty Sky), 14th century
MUKAIJI (Flute in the Misty Sea), 14th
century
REIBO will be the introduction to these three
traditional pieces as well as
some words of explanation.
